Piazza Navona Flat- One minute walk from probably the nicest square in the world...
The apartment is situated in the heart of ancient Rome, in a quite Alley, very characteristic tipical ancient Rome building near Navona square and yet just 2 minutes walk from the river.
Location: Close to everything... here are the exact details:
It's a small and narrow alley, and the house is in a hidden inner, private court yard.
The apartment is in a walking distance from many tourist attractions
such as: the Pantheon (5 minutes walk), the Spanish Steps (10 minutes walk), Trevi fountain (10 minutes walk), Piazza Venezia (15 minutes walk), Campo di Fiori (just across piazza Navona), and other very important tourist arttractions like the ancient roman ghetto and it's Synagogue, the French church of Saint Luigi (where you can admire a few works of Caravaggio),
Castle Saint Angelo (just across the river) and others.
Transportation:
Although the apartment is located in the middle and walking distance of all main tourist attractions it is also good connected with public transportation:
Near the house there is a bus station with many useful lines like; No. 87 to the Coliseum,
No. 70 to the Termini station, No. 116 to Vila Borghese
and No. 64 (from Corso Vittorio Emmanuelle) to the Vatican Museums.
Description of the apartment:
It is a studio apartment, a big room (with high wooden ceilings),
A few stairs that lead to a "sleeping area" (a queen size bed),
two long glassed doors, a small kitchen, bathroom with toilet and shower.
The house is fully furnished, including: a fridge, small electric stove, table and chairs, towels, sheets,
dining and cooking equipment, blankets etc. In the room there is also a sofa that opens to two single beds.
As mentioned, the apartment is looking upon a small courtyard. There is independent heating system
(that heats also the water).
Here are some tips for those who choose to live near Piazza Navona:
Markets: The closest open market for buying fresh food is Campo dei Fiori. very characteristic market in the morning and a vivid pubs area at night time.
(Opens every day until 13:00 except Sundays).
A very big fruit and vegetable market that is also less expensive,
is in Piazza Vittorio (bus No. 70, last stop and then a 10 minutes walk).
The nearest alley of the apartment is a street of artisans. Via dell'Orso. It holds an open gallery with works every other Saturday, yet you can just visit the stores and see the artist in actions in normal opening hours.
An English local newspaper is "Wanted in Rome", published every other week.
A very good restaurant (and not terribly expensive) is right behind the house,
in Via dell'Orso and is called Osteria Dell'Orso (closed on Mondays).
On the same street there is a very good Fish Restaurant called LAGANA'.
Behind the Navona square crossing Corso Vittorio Emanuelle there
is a nice and not very expensive restaurant called Insalata Ricca (Piazza Pasquino).
Although the piazza is so beautiful and sitting there for passers by watch and street entertainers is a great way to relax and get some inspiration and maybe a few laughs, The restaurants at the Navona square itself are not recommended as they are expensive, not good quality and basically are tourist traps...
The Pictures you see above are actual pictures of this flat.
