Dig through to see the way I found to travel for less and experience more.
Pppssst. Come, get closer. Here is a secret for you. Well it is not really a secret and it is not really new but I found this recently and I do want to share it with you. Whether you berry this article or give it a star, this information is important for whoever is going to get his butt out of this screen and head
to the airport towards some European destinations.
And the following month as every other month in the last years, there are going to be millions of us travellers around the globe. Tourists, businessmen, snobbish shoppers, wonderers, and other types of travellers are all going to make their way towards the hunt for the dolce vita.
And where is that to be found you wonder? Traditionally, that is at the centre of Rome to found.
At least the rumours claims that.
Well, reaching this dolce vita goal, or rather just study the ancient cultures of the once world's emperors while strolling around exactly where they used to do that while dominating the rest of the world, is not a very easy task.
Mainly because the spaghetti capital is going to cost you a lot to have such experience.
If you are willing to settle for the normal regular ways of travelling, that is.
And the basic thing to start with is a regular hotel.
Get strait into the formality of bored employees that serve you not so very happily mainly cause they see many of you, they did not grew up with the American capitalistic standards of serving a happy customer, and you are just work for them. Even if they do give you some occasionally smiles, they usually just wanna finish their job and go to watch soccer (it's called football by the way) and chat with their pals at the local bar.
Check out this video if you want to know what I'm talking about. And I am sure this guy didn't pay just pocket money to have such a hotel.

And here I continue to reveal my story tip: Rome, as
any other capital today, is getting bigger and bigger,
like many other metropolitans on the globe. And gets
also much more short-term visitors that are coming to
explore it. But, unlike most other places, Rome can
not really build skyscrapers at it's centre, like Berlin
is doing for instance. In fact, at the centre of Rome,
where most of the city's attractions are and where most
travellers want to live while in there, there are though
restrictions for constructing new places. Especially
high buildings that might have produce more places to
stay. The real estate gets high in the sky of course,
more then many other European capitals in the last years
and there is not that much places to host all that huge
amount of visitors who coming to do their way from the
gladiators arena and the roman forum till the via condotti
to see the last designs of Versace, Fendi Dolce Gabbana
and their friends.
Actually there is a way but before I tell you how, (relax,
take your cappuccino slowly. get into the
atmosphere) let me remind you that when there is
a huge demand for a bed, the traveller gets ripped off,
he pays more and gets less.
Ok ok, I am coming to that issue. There are many Romans, new habitants of the city that is, who do not like to live in the centre, it is too chaotic and full of tourists. (just kidding.don't take it personally) anyways many of them that had apartments in the city have a tendency of leaving it empty, many didn't want to rent it for other Romans for longer periods cause of some bureaucratic issues that I'd better not get you in. (Not only cause I do not fully understand them myself but also not to get you bored with them before you get to the revealing of my story.)
This and the will to open doors for tourists and the will to offer and alternative to expensive hotel, made many apartment owner to give their apartment for tourist.
The fee they charge is much less then a small noisy room in a hotel at piazza venezia for instance. This means that the costs for a couple or even two couples that rent an apartment like that could be much much less then a regular hotel plus there are a few other economic savings. This apartments are usually fully furnished and have a kitchen. Meaning no need to sick for fast food at the streets while strolling around. You can just use the kitchen. Back cook, invite people, just like you would have at your own place, and the most important thing: live like the Romans, be like the Romans. Get to know them, your neighbours, your landlords, the barrista at the corner etc. this will certainly give you a better experience to know the city and its habitants better and spend much less money for your all vacation.
For instance check out these four
nice apartments at the centre Rome. Those are all
Mike's apartments. He and his wife, typical Romans but
yet speak good English and are very helpful have renovated
those central houses so one can really feel he is in
a house. This friendly Italian couple can give you some
help on how to get around and teach you something about
Italian culture from a first hand as well.
